Many aspiring investors looking to build wealth through real estate choose to get their real estate license, often starting out as agents to generate income while positioning themselves to invest in property. This career path can be incredibly rewarding, offering limitless potential both financially and professionally. In my blog post 10 Real Estate Career Paths and Salaries, I dive into what the job entails and what you can expect to earn.
Real estate isn't just about making money—it's about guiding people through some of the most significant transactions of their lives.
Get Started:
To get started, you'll need to complete real estate classes, pass an exam, and secure your license - hanging it up with a Brokerage. I highly recommend joining a productive team if you're new and finding a mentor who’s already succeeding in the industry. Also, read books about how to crush it. Learn from the best to fast-track your growth!
Real Estate Assistant:
A real estate assistant provides administrative support to real estate agents or brokers. Responsibilities might include managing client communication, handling paperwork, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that transactions are running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is how I started. I assisted a successful agent, and this allowed me to learn the ins and outs of the business—from CRM architecture and marketing to transaction coordination and sales cycles, all while making money.
It is one of my top recommended gateways to the industry.
Real Estate Transaction Coordinator:
Transaction coordinators (TCs) handle the paperwork and deadlines that keep deals on track, which is a critical skill in this field and a great opportunity to move upward to Management and Director roles. They are the liaison between the title company, agents, clients, appraisers, inspectors, and any other parties involved between mutual acceptance (when a sale contract is ratified) and closing.
Real Estate Listing Coordinator:
Listing Coordinators (LCs) handle the behind-the-scenes work involved in listing and marketing properties. Their primary role is to streamline the listing process. They make sure all necessary paperwork, contracts, and disclosures are properly handled on time. They also coordinate with sellers, photographers, and staging teams to prepare homes for the market. They ensure information syndicates from MLS (Multiple Listing Service) to other major platforms like Zillow, and Realtor.com.
